This was a banner hung at Myoeong -dong area in Seoul , Korea. I was so touched... it brought tears to all the staff at for this event I participated in. It says,"Everyone from Japan, please don't give up. We are your friends".

The Ground Self Defense of Japan: The Force unit is lowering to place the coffin at the temporal site in Miyagi Japan. 


This year on April 26th 's Sosai's 17th Memorial Service, we will also hold "Kigan" (Energy, Pray) for all the lost spirits and for the souls of the survivors 3-11th earthquake. 







It is challenging... the fine line of maintaining and moving forward with losing it. It gets to your nerves when the tremblers come and go. 


I feel so lost at times...

Affected by the Disaster?

My cat, who does not get sick has been ill for over a week..... ! The vet says is it prolly just a cold but his loss of appetite (which is very unusual) is a worry.... (;@;)

IAEA.

Came to Tokyo. Did testing for radiation level in here and it was normal level.
Now there are on their way to Fukushima.

DONATION ALERT.

There has been cases reported here that there were arrests of people scamming money off good-intended people, posing as the "Red Cross".

This is infuriating!

What we can do now.

I thought of this today as students tickled in to morning yoga class. My teacher had it open all along, even on the day of the first earthquake. Suzuki Kancho had the classes open to people who could not reach home or fly out stayed at Honbu.

 They were random people but they did simple movements and this took some stress off them mentally- they smiled a bit more.

I had a call from a friend in NZ. Though her area was not struck directly by the Earthquake in Christchurch , she said the feeling of watching the news about Japan made her "experience" resurface again. This time though, she took time off to train. We all dedicate our path to one another especially in times of such difficulties. And it really does lift each other's hearts.

The bodies are found but there are not enough morgue....

New Life.

19 babies have been born since the devastation swept Japan. I am just in tears and in awe of how strong and beautiful the mothers are....

HOPE.

Many are evacuating the Nuclear Plant area in Fukushima Prefecture. Even people in Tokyo are fleeing, some I know are already overseas.

The refugees are staying in the emergency shelter, locally run gymnasiums in Yamagata or Niigata prefecture. It is so cold tonight and many are sleeping on the floor just with thin blankets.

It is not just the material and physical discomfort but as time goes by there will be emotional trauma that will surface and need to be dealt with. Coming days psychological support will be needed.

I just pray very hard for all of the people in this difficulty now and ourselves to find the fortitude to over come this.

INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS: Putting together relief teams, as well as supplies, and are in contact with partners in Japan and other affected countries to assess needs and coordinate our activities.

SHELTER BOX: The first team is mobilizing to head to Japan and begin the response effort.

I am thankful we have such big Kyokushin Family, one who love Sosai because the reactions to our post on our website was just amazing.

Death Toll rises to 3676.

It is just so hard to watch the news.... then I also see so much gratitude among the survivors that touches all across Japan.

A tsunami survivor shows the family pictures she collected from the rubble of her house in Yamada on Tuesday.

 

MOC Unity Funds and 800 Rescue Team Workers.

MOC Unity Funds is a donation based entity which helps different charities and multiple projects through Kyokushin activties.

For the "Higashi Nihon Daishinsai" Eastern Japan Earthquake, we have started donations  to the Japan Red Cross from the Kyokushinkai Dogi and parts of the annual memberships. There will be other projects on the way specifically for raising funds for the disaster relief.

MOC stands for Mas Oyama and Chiyako. It's entire purpose is to help other's, raising awareness of issues at hand or bringing light to causes which may not be as noticed as it deserves.

It was always my parents hope and passion that Kyokushin Karate brings enlightenment to the individual practicing thus helping the community and society of that individual, bringing wholeness their lives.

The donation will be made to support the overseas help of over 800 rescue team workers. The have come from USA, Korea, China, NewZealand, Taiwan, Switzerland, France, Russia, Singapore,  to name just a few.

Raising Awareness.

Hello Everyone,

IKO Kyokushinkaikan SoHonbu have donated 500,000 yen for the devastation that struck Northern Japan. Now there is also confirmation on nuclear plant meltdown and the release of radiation.
People are still evacuating the area. I just have no words to comment other than hope and that we have the resilience to over come anything with grace, which is what Sosai had shown us time and time again.

Please keep praying for those affected by this catastrophe, directly and indirectly.

We will continue to raise funds and percentages from the dogi purchases will be used for this.

Electricity Shut Down.

Hello everyone,

The Japanese government is going to systematically "save" the electricity usage starting tomorrow morning from 6 am for 3 hours in Tokyo. This means all electricity will be shut down. The time range differs from city to city, village to village, prefecture to prefecture.

Please pray for that the continuation of this effort will make enough difference to the areas that are now has no access to electricity, gas or water.

Earth Quake 2.

Hello Everyone,

First of all I am shocked to actually see the devastation around Shirakawa, Fukushima Prefecture. And this was not even the epicenter. I have to move robotic to keep my "upbeat" energy but it is very bad. And I say again, this is not even the epicenter.

The water pipes are shut down.  the to help the distribution from other areas we have volunteered. I am not a trained staff and I regret I cannot do more.

There are a lot of fire even around Honbu area. The trembler is still coming and going. We closed our training session but opened the dojo to those just need a place to rest.

I am writing from my iphone where there is connection.

The nuclear energy meltdown occurred in two locations. Everyone is scared.

Earth Quake.

I was underground on the subway when the earth quake struck the epicenter of Miyagi. It was scary but I kept on reading my book to take my mind off the oncoming panic!

I wanted to thank you all quickly for the emails and text messages I am getting. Honbu is fine - somethings were broken but not as badly as others in the neighborhood. The hospital right across from us (which all you visitors has passed by!) had all their windows broken from the shaking. Blessings to all the patients and staff there. Suzuki went in to help the elderly and people in wheelchair.

I came out of the subway and all public transportation was closed off- I walked 8 hours back home! Thankfully I was not in my heels...!

 I am taking Kyokushin students to help out with the Red Cross outside of Tokyo- closer to the disaster area. The electricity was down and I went to the net cafe but it was full so sorry for keeping you all waiting.

The tremblor is still ongoing....
