Long time no blog...

Hey Everyone...It's been a while to come to this blog... How is everyone doing?

I got quite a few emails asking me if I abandoned this blogsite. The answer is no, my intention is to blog more often but my schedule is a bit too binding. And this is my son's final year in high school... Ya! So my time was occupied with his decision to go to university or work or both...

As for Honbu we are all doing fine. There is steady support from the black belts and interestingly, all of them trained at Honbu under Sosai but never went on to open a dojo or become a branch chief. Some were recruited but had to forego the chance for one reason or another. It is nice to see and feel the camaraderie with Kancho.

Oh another news is my husband formerly Yoshikazu Suzuki, legally changed his last name to Oyama. So if anyone wonders getting his name card or hearing thru the grapevines, it is not just nickname we randomly picked for him to call himself. Lol. Seriously,  it was huge decision for him. He had been thinking a while (and he does take his time deciding) even though he does not say much to me.

In his welcome speech at my father's 20th Memorial Ceremony held at both Gokokuji Temple (family and close relations only) and celebrated IKO Kyokushinkaikan Honbu's 50th year, I felt it was his own way of publicly renewing his commitment to Mas Oyama's Kyokushin Karate.

I just had to go back and see when I wrote my last blog, and it was 7months ago!

Wow.

I have twitter account but is is not public so let me know if you want to follow me. Or email me if  you want to ask me questions or want me to address any topic you want to ask.

I have been blogging more steadily at Ameba blog site but it is mostly in Japanese but do visit if you are interested.

Take care,

K

Happy New Year! 2014 (≧∇≦)!

Hi Everyone~~~~!

新年明けましておめでとうございます!

今年も宜しくお願い致します。

(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

I swung by this blog site  and I was so touched that so many still stopped by here!
And thank you very much for all the supportive messages. I don't travel for the organization as much as I used to so
it is lovely to hear from you guys(≧∇≦)。

Someone asked what I had been up to, both personally and in regards to
Kyokushin kaikan so I will share here what I been doing in 2013 and my plans for the coming year^_^。

I still work the same job but I was moved to a bigger law firm. It was always on my "necessary-to -do-list" to get more familiar with business management so it was a perfect arrangement for me. I still practice yoga and do translations.

Organizationally, we are doing steadily, thanks to all the support we get from steady supporters.

The rights department faces with the usual difficulty for treating delinquent
(And pretentious) karate-dojo -owners who charges to "teach Kyokushin karate" to unassuming prospects(ー ー;).

On the bright side because they gather to a similar "space" where similar energies cluster,
this has made our job much easier to distinguish who is doing what, and with what kind of intention.
Makes our job much easier, it is even easing to my conscience.lol.

I finally found someone who will design my website...which I know I have been saying to do! But I
finally feel I found the perfect designer ! I tried using pictures and graphic designs but it didn't fit what I was looking for. This person draws for individual clients which will represent the uniqueness
for the website

(≧∇≦)。

Anyway have a great rest of 2014. I will be back to write more and
answer to questions!

Beautiful Energy.....

Hi everyone,

Long time no blog... Sorry I haven't been keeping things up here. I will give my series of excuses later on...!

Yesterday we had our 10th Mas Oyama Memorial Tournament. I really want to express my deepest gratitude to all those that took their time to fly into Japan to attend this special event for Sosai. It was an event dedicated to his Kyokushin  karate Sosai Mas Oyama created, I must add,  against all odds almost half a decade ago.

Today many enjoy the benefits of his dedication and what better way to commemorate it by making the tournament all about him (^o^)。

We wanted to keep the event more familial but so many applied! It maxed out our capacity in staff  I must say.

Please go to Kyokushinkaikan Facebook for updates.

As for my website, it is coming....

Booo!

HI everyone!

I have been so neglecting this blog, I feel terrible! Now, I have a little more time on my hands so I will be back here often. All emails will be responded by me if you have any questions, so feel free to message me.

Quick update on my life...

I am still working on my website. It is coming along slowwwwwly, yes... But I am happy I will be as to share bits of my life with you all.

I took cut with my work days. Which means I will be tending to yoga projects and Kyokushin activities more.

Recently, I was asked about "IKO-2" . I never knew how this numbering system came about, like IKO -1 for Matsui, IKO-2 for Midori... Anyway, I learned about a rumor instigating it was our family that started this "IKO-2". Absolutely NO.

Besides, if we start anything, we would have done in a way that we would finish it, see?
There will be no mumble-jumble name alterations, at least on my part! No "NeNeChanel" instead of
Coco Chanel.

So anyway, I hope everyone is doing wonderfully.

Sosai's Memorial Day today.

Hi everyone

I am sorry I haven't been attentive here but I thank you all for the "missing you " emails!!!

I just wanted to share a bit of my day today, which was partly peculiar and partly wonderful...

I did my chanting for Sosai as today is his 19th year since his passing. I still miss himself dearly, and we I am still so touched by how so many people still miss him.

My yoga friends held a mini- ceremony for Sosai, we did Kirtan and chanting after a light practice. It was full moon yesterday and you know, Sosai was born on full moon day.

After this I huddled over to the Gokokuji temple where Mom and Dad rests. Interestingly, Other family members went there earlier in the morning to pay their respects to Sosai. As I approached the gravesite, I saw few people in track suits with broom and bucket of water already cleaning. They had shin Kyokushin t- shirt. So with my hat and my mask, I pretended to be a fan of Sosai just cleaning along with them. Then came Matsui san's fighters and branch chief . They also cleaned, dusted, wiped away the gravesite.

Then came Midori San, and I haven't seen him in like.... Decades. I was so surprised how happy I was to see him. It was so strange. Then I realized, I didn't have any animosity towards when Sosai was here.
