My employers are frantically going thru the interview process for the new- faces coming on board this April. And I had a really interesting account to tell you all that happened during one of interviews.
There are hundreds of job applicants and they wait hours just to get to the board room where one of the final interviews begin. I watched in awe of how the interviewee's were put through series questions, got their linguistic and language proficiency checked, grilled for their concept of what the future of the firm and the company is etc/....
In one of the group interviews, there was a woman (I think it was a woman) who actually physically blocked the rival so she could not speak. I sat in awe to see what she was going to do next... and nothing happened! I looked over the board members and one of the lady (sharp as hell, she is one of my idols) curiously asked, "What do you have to say about what just happened here?" And woman did not reply!
There was a person deliberately blocking so the she could not speak and she did not do a damn thing! And more over, when she was asked point blank what she thought of the incident, she just folded like a tent. She was just too embarrassed to be put on spot like that.
Did the firm hire them? No. Which one was worse in their eyes- the rude one who shoved the rival aside or the passive one who refused to defend herself?
The boss answered, "The who did not defend herself. Who will do it for you but you?"
I rest my case. Haa...
